Jamie Foxx is a celebrity actor and musician who started his career as a stand up comedian. Interestingly, he changed his name to Jamie Foxx after discovering that the female comedians were often called first to perform at the comedy clubs. Despite this, his name in the movie industry was made in more dramatic roles. He won an Oscar and received much critical acclaim for the movie “Ray” with his portrayal of blind musician Ray Charles. He was also nominated for an Academy Award in the same year for best supporting actor (a feat that only he and Al Pacino have achieved).
