Orlando Bloom is a English actor who joined the National Youth Theatre in London when he was 16. He spent two years here as well as performing some small roles in British television. He then joined the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where it was feared he would be permanently paralysed after a three story fall. Fortunately, he quickly recovered and returned to the stage. It was in 1999 when the director Peter Jackson was in the audience that his big break came. Jackson asked him to audition for the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy and the rest, as they say, is history.
